Shrine of St. Joseph, Patron of the Suffering and Dying

“O St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus Christ and true spouse of the Virgin Mary,
pray for us and for the suffering and dying of this day/night.”

The Shrine of St. Joseph is located in Grass Lake, a beautiful farming community 20 miles west of Ann Arbor and 10 miles East of Jackson Michigan.

The Servants of Charity and Daughters of St. Mary of Providence direct the activities of the Shrine, offering spiritual guidance and the Sacraments to Pilgrims and the local community.

The Shrine of St Joseh is not a Catholic Parish, however the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation are offered daily with the permission of Bishop Earl Boyea.  Anointing of the Sick is conferred on First Saturdays during Holy Mass and from time-to-time weddings, Baptisms and Memorial Masses take place with the permission of the Home Parish Pastor.

Pilgrims and the local community come together each day to pray the Rosary, attend Mass and pray for the intentions of the Pious Union of St Joseph and all those who ask for our prayers.
